Wait till they get brighter and come down in price.
I bought this because I thought I could use it to light a small table for reading. I so badly wanted it to work for this purpose. As an accent bulb I suppose it’s fine, but it is very dim. Shame on me for assuming it might be more than it says. But accent lighting isn’t so eco friendly in the first place. Buy it if you want a REALLY expensive accent light.

More LEDs in a bulb for the same cost would be nice.
How about a 150 LED bulb for $29.95???
Now that would be worth it!
Exterior usage: I recommend at least a 225 LED for $49.95..

This is about as bright as a dim 5 watt incandescent bulb. Anybody who says different is selling them or works for them. My pure white 2 watt cold cathode 20,000 hour CFLs are a little brighter than a 25 watt incandescent… much brighter than these & only cost me $3 each.

This bulb puts out light the equivalent of about a 25 watt bulb. Good construction and it is shaped like a tradiional bulb making it useful for clip-on shade lamps.

This light bulb is well constructed — didn’t seem flimsy or feel like some part was going to fall off. The light output is also very even in all directions, and even after running for hours, this light is only slightly warm to the touch. The only downside is that it’s light output is also quite dim — on the order of a good, strong candle light level — this truly is an “accent” light bulb.
